A pitch to start a blog…I think so 😉 Maybe it’s my immature sense of humor or the strange fact that I absolutely love getting older – probably both – but this cracks me up!

Of the reason’s I take great joy in aging:

Reduced competition in the running world – Oh Ya
I can STILL drink a margaritia…even if I forgot my ID
I know by now who my real friends are (and I HEART YOU <3)
I’ve actually got some game in Trivial Pursuit
No more “is your mom home” when telemarketers call #hastalavistalandline
Respect Your Elders – this kinda works
I’m confident in who I am, where I came from and what I believe
Two words: Older & Wiser
The “OshKosh” jokes are actually kinda funny now
I’ve taken a good look at genetics and fear not #thanksancestors
I do “mature things” like go to bed early, eat breakfast and read the paper!
My little brother is cool and my sis doesn’t eat my lip gloss (as far as I know)
Starting to see what matters and what does not…and how to tell the difference
I better understand my parents and love them anyway
Things like black coffee, dirty martinis and aged cheese are starting to taste good
It’s ok to embrace my nerdy side
I have the best kiddos in the entire world – and adore em’ even when they’re not!
Lookn’ forward to dorm life round #2 (aka: nursing home) …jello shots will be, um, just jello #partyon
AND, I have an opportunity daily to become more of the person I was made to be…

I know what it is to be in need, and I know what it is to have plenty. I have learned the secret of being content in any and every situation, whether well fed or hungry, whether living in plenty or in want.

Every day is a gift…and I love each and every one (just don’t ask me daily, ha!).

 

Repurpose Your TP Roll, Not Kidding ;)

Ok, so it sounds like I’m really reaching this time – taking my green initiative to a whole new level by suggesting that saving this small amount of rather *necessary* cardboard might prove beneficial. While it alone might not save the planet, it could be the very tool needed to spruce up that outdated decor…and every effort counts, right!?

I know what you’re thinking – yes, my eyes are still swirling from the subliminal messages found hidden in the deeps of The Lorax, but I have to say, I did sorta love that flick AND if this catches on, yes, a tree or two could be saved. Just one problem – you’ll have to get over the fact that this beautiful art was created by several trips to the restroom! Sounds classy, I know…but as an avid fan of modern wall art and a huge heart for saving our planet, I’m thinking this could be the new solution to that hard-to-decorate space in your home. Simple, low-cost, beautiful, earth-friendly and with unlimited creative potential. LOVE IT!

The Lorax, Dr. Seuss ~ Movie Review

What do you do with an animation alluding – possibly a little too much – to controversial issues of conservation, politics, religion and various other propaganda distracting from the message in the original text? You pay a little extra to watch it in 3-D!

Let LOVE save the world…I think Dr. Seuss might like it. Is it really so bad that Ted might find his passion for a green initiative in school-boy twitterpation? What better reason is there!? He heard “I’d probably marry him right on the spot”  …in the voice of Taylor Swift. That was a boy on a mission – he can’t help it that he might save the world too – give him a break, movie critics.

AND if you don’t care for the twists in the movie plot or silly, creative animation, you certainly won’t care for the funky tunes ~ but you might like this humorous video!

Ode to the criticism of a greed-driven capitalistic system and the evils of excess (caution against putting me into a socialist/semi-socialist box, wink)…a massive ruse alluding to the absurdity of, um, bottled water (don’t pay for what ya might find for #free)…and yes, for goodness sake, plant a tree (the ladies will love ya for it!). I should also admit: I cried, yes real tears, at a 3-D animated film – which was made it a little more difficult to notice all the welling up of tears #benefitofhuge3-Dglasses. See the flick, hug a tree, call me a hippie (grandpa) but I loved this film!
